Hey family!
Before I forget any of the questions you asked, I'm going to answer them.
Transfer calls are on saturday and actual transfers are a week from today.
The weather has actually cooled down this weekend! Been kind of cloudy and rained a little yesterday. I've become california-ized. When it drops below like 60 I'm shiverin and stuff! haha I don't know how I'm going to deal with Utah winters when I get home!
Big Rob is doing good! No bike break downs this week!
And I think that answers all of them.
Ok so I have an awesome mission story are you ready?
Thursday. We go out to eat at Ho Ho China.(a hole in the wall chinese place) (what a great start to a good mission story right?) And that night we had an appointment with Casey and Aimee. Another couple that we've fellowshipped with them came along also.(the porteras). So we go in, sit down, and immideately i knew something was up. I got the chills and felt my stomach clear up in my chest. I fought it as long as I could, then finally about 30 minutes into the lesson I asked,"Could I use your bathroom?" and no sooner did I walk in there, flip on the light and lock the door was I spewing up everything! For about 20 minutes I just was kneeling next to the toilet just pukin my guts out! Then came back into the lesson. It got really good and spiritual. finished. and then politely told them,"Oh and by the way I was blowin chunks, but I made it all, so no worries!" haha. They had no clue! They were like,"Oh my goodness are you ok!?" haha. I'm good now, but I totally was sick for that night and the next day! I even thought I had tonselitus, cuz I had all the symptoms, but instead of crying about it I just cowboyed up and now I'm feelin great! Good story eh?
Speaking of Casey and Aimee. They are doing awesome! They had a concern about not recognizing answers to their prayers and they were concerned that they haven't felt the spirit as strong as they would like. Easy concern to get over. We tackled that and then church yesterday sealed the deal. They loved and guess what? They came to all 3 hours! It was awesome! I think they really enjoyed it! After church we invited them to a baptism in the single adult ward and they were like,"Hmm i dunno. we'll go home and talk about it then let you know." So we were thinkin, they're churched out. But guess what sucks? We didn't go cuz we thought they weren't going, but they went all by themselves! The zone leaders were makin fun of us so bad! They were like,"Even your investigators will come to our baptisms and you guys won't!" That's rad though huh?
Also! We're teaching this less active member and her husband. They're super nice, I may have told you about them before. Juan and Kelly Guillen? So Kelly has a solid testimony but for some reason is trying to fly under the radar of the church. Has no issues and is 100% a believer, but isn't comin out! But we've been teaching her and her husband Juan. Focusing on him and teaching him the lessons without asking,"can we teach you the lessons" but get this! For the past 2 weeks he's been reading the BOM! He's in Chapter 10 of first Nephi! And this last lesson we taught the plan of salvation and after he said the most amazing thing ever,"I want to believe. I just feel empty inside. I know there is more to life. I was raised catholic, but I don't feel like that is what I believe in. I want to know for myself. I just want to believe in something." This is coming from a guy who was nice but completely stand offish to the missionaries. Wouldn't sit in on lessons, and now he's a sincere searcher! A hunter of truth! AWESOME
Hmm I think that pretty much covers the miracles this week. I'm super glad to hear you're all doing well! 13 month mark! What!? No way!
I love you so much! I miss you! I hope I'll be able to write a few words tomorrow for mo dot o!
Love,
Elder keyes
