Kaylyn got baptized!!! It was the most spiritual baptism I've ever been too!! The Spirit was as strong as ever! She bore a powerful testimony of the truth of the gospel when she came back out. Her anti-mormon family was there and she looked them right in the eye and bore testimony in the name of Jesus Christ that what she just did pleased God. It was powerful! Then yesterday she was confirmed and it was the best confirmation I've ever heard. Hands down. A guy named Brother Lindford did it. He's that old guy in the stake that everyone reveers as like the unordained Patriarch. He like knows everything and every time he talks it feels like it's inspired of the Spirit. It was amazing. What a great blessing it was to be a part of that!
Ok I have to tell you now about all the new rules set in place. They all suck. Ready? I wasn't
No Skinny ties
When it's cool enough we have to wear suits. No sweaters. Suits.
No knives (except for use in the kitchen)
No more ward welcomes at baptisms
No more missionary invites at baptisms
NO SKYPE. (only phone calls on mission phones)
No Movies at all except the proselyting Dvds and the preach my gospel videos
Yeah. Lame.
So it looks like we won't be skyping. And it looks like we won't even be talking on members phones. Which really sucks a lot. I'm going to see what I can do. I'll try and pull some strings, but I bet I won't be able to change this. It sucks but if it's what the Lord's annointed says, then that's how it's going to be and we all need to try and accept that. There are probably good reasons behind the new rules even though we can't really see why.
A couple other things real quick before I forget.
I am out of Protein cuz I've been gettin yoked. more please.
and Thanks so much for sending me more bibs!(fat ties) I'll never have to worry about spilling on my shirt ever again cuz the freakin apron tie will catch it! haha
Ok I think that's all of the big stuff that I had to remember to say in the e-mail!
So I heard all about the amazingness of the Big Book of Mormon family dinner! That sounds like it was awesome!! Congrats to the Elderly for puttin on a good show! Everyone had great things to say about it! What a unique and exciting event! I wish I could have seen it!! Good job The Moms!
We have the best family everrrr!!!!
We just got a new ward mission leader who's awesome! Our old one was really weird and all business all the time. Lame! But the new one is a guy we know really well. His name is Adam Mcfarlane, but everyone just calls him Micky! And always see him and tell him,"Hey micky! You're so fine. You're so fine you blow my mind!" And he always says,"Hey its the keyeser!! He's fat and jolly. He's always happy, upbeat, and in a good mood! I'm stoked to work with him!
We also got a new 2nd Counselor in our Bishopric whom we're pretty close too already! His name is Brother Flake! He's probably one of the greatest guys I've ever met! He's one of those filthy rich yet 100% humble guys. He's hilarious and when the time comes, he's also very spiritual and powerful. We're really excited about that!
Hmm what else.
We had Zone Leader council this past week! That was a blast!! I absolutley loved it!! President is the man! I got there in my fat tie and Presidnet greeted me at the door and said,"Good lookin tie Elder Keyes!" I noticed quickly that I was the only one there in a brown suit so I said,"Is there a no-brown-suit policy too now Pres?" He chuckled and said jokingly,"Oh yeah I forgot to tell you that too! You're just breakin all sorts of rules aren't you?!" Then I asked if he was going to make me dye my red hair next. He thought that was pretty funny. He's such a funny guy. It was a blast!! I got to see some of my favorite missionaries there. Elder Schwenke and Elder Sumsion! Those two are seriously two of the best guys ever. I love em both!
I'm planning on sending home a box full of My uke. Some shirts and pants I never wear that are just takin up room. My skinny ties. And some other goodies either this week or next week. Whatever you see in the package that you didn't see before was giving to me by either other missoinaries or members. I got the rep for wearing skinny ties and got a ton givin to me for it so that was pretty awesome! So expect a package soon!
ALSO! Please tell Grandma Keyes I said Happy Birthday! I love her and that her birthday letter is on its way and sorry that its late!
Alright you guys! We're going to go play stupid soccer for p-day today!
